Iwalani Kaluhiokalani was born in Massachusetts to bi-racial parents of Hawaiian-Scottish and Dutch-Indonesian descent, respectively. She received a BFA in Painting with Distinction and Departmental Honors from Massachusetts College of Art and Design in Boston, MA, where she also studied dance and performance art in the Studio for Interrelated Media (SIM) program. She later continued her Laban Movement Analysis studies, completing a Laban Bartenieff Movement certification program at Lesley College, Cambridge, MA. She is part of Kingston Gallery, Boston MA. Her work has been shown in solo and group exhibitions at Galatea Fine Art, Boston, MA, USA; Bromfield Gallery, Boston, MA, USA; and, recently, in The Pfizer Building and LabCentral, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, MA, USA. Iwalani is a member of SOWA Boston and Fort Point Artists Community. Her work is held in individual and corporate private collections. She currently works in Boston, MA, USA, and Marseille, France.
